Access at EPFL campus

Network access at campus is provided for the students, staff, visitors and guests (hôtes) of EPFL by WiFi or by wire. It is always authenticated by WiFi.

WiFi (wireless)

There are two possibilities to connect :

• epfl (or eduroam) network (SSID).
  This is the first network to select if the equipment is able to do WPA2 (enterprise) authentication. The eduroam network is for those who have to connect in other universities of this program (functionnality is the same of epfl).
• public-epfl network (SSID).
  It is a docking network on which you need a VPN client to get the connection. It is sometimes the only solution possible for PDA.

Wired

There are two kind of equipments :

• fixed (workstations or servers)
• free access
